Accessibility statement
Our commitment to service accessibility
At ePress, we are committed to our subscribers. Whether you use assistive technologies such as a screen reader, magnifying glass, voice recognition software or connectivity technology, or if you find you have other accessibility needs, we believe that all our subscribers should be able to use our services on our website and mobile site. Because we embrace the values of diversity and service accessibility in everything we do, our mission is to make ePress the choice for leisure reading for all individuals.
How do we achieve our goals?
We set high standards for the accessibility of our online services and strive to ensure that we comply with all laws and guidelines. Our team of professionals is dedicated to making the user experience of our website and mobile site the best it can be, and we work with advocacy groups, industry partners and suppliers to identify areas for improvement.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA is recognised and accepted as an international standard and assessment tool. We strive to meet these standards and regularly test our website to ensure compliance. We incorporate accessibility and inclusive design as an integral part of all our digital work: in project design, implementation and site improvements based on customer feedback. We work with advocacy groups, accessibility and usability experts to ensure our sites work properly. We are always learning. Our teams learn from everything we do, and we’re always striving to improve performance, speed and accessibility.
Measures to improve accessibility
In particular, we focus on the following areas to ensure that our website and mobile site are as user-friendly as possible for all subscribers:
Site structure: we aim to use appropriate headings, lists, paragraphs and other design features on the epress.fi website and apps to help subscribers understand the content and navigate more easily using assistive technology.
Text responses: People who cannot see images or hear sound may need some form of surrogate presentation to interact with our sites. We aim to ensure that our images and multimedia are fully accessible through alternative text, captions and transcripts.
Full keyboard access: we aim to ensure that everything we build can be accessed using a keyboard.
Site consistency: we aim to build our website and mobile site in a consistent way. Our goal is to ensure that you understand the principle of how to navigate our site, so that you can use both the website and our mobile site in a consistent way.
